Itoplectis melanocephala[6] är en stekelart som först beskrevs av Johann Ludwig Christian Gravenhorst 1829. Itoplectis melanocephala ingår i släktet Itoplectis och familjen brokparasitsteklar.[7][8][9] Enligt den finländska rödlistan[10] är arten nationellt utdöd i Finland. Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[9] Artens livsmiljö är stränder.[10] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[7]
