Stryphnus ponderosus[3][5][6][7][8] är en svampdjursart som först beskrevs av James Scott Bowerbank 1866. Stryphnus ponderosus ingår i släktet Stryphnus och familjen Ancorinidae.[9][10][11] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[11] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[9]
