Phoronis psammophila är en djurart[5][6][7][8] som beskrevs av Cori 1889. Enligt Catalogue of Life[9][10] ingår Phoronis psammophila i släktet Phoronis, fylumet hästskomaskar och riket djur,[9][10] men enligt Dyntaxa[11] är tillhörigheten istället släktet Phoronis, familjen Phoronidae, fylumet hästskomaskar och riket djur.[11] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[11] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[9]
