Ornithoteuthis volatilis[1][2][4][5][6] är en bläckfiskart som först beskrevs av Sasaki 1915. Ornithoteuthis volatilis ingår i släktet Ornithoteuthis och familjen Ommastrephidae.[7][8] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[7]
