Herpestomus brunnicornis[7] är en stekelart som först beskrevs av Johann Ludwig Christian Gravenhorst 1829. Herpestomus brunnicornis ingår i släktet Herpestomus och familjen brokparasitsteklar.[8][9][10] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[10] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[8]
