Ambispora leptoticha är en svampart[5] som först beskrevs av N.C. Schenck & G.S. Sm., och fick sitt nu gällande namn av C. Walker, Vestberg & A. Schüssler 2007. Ambispora leptoticha ingår i släktet Ambispora och familjen Ambisporaceae.[6][7] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[6]
