In shape, color, and general appearance it resemblesthe pupa of Afacrobasis immaciilata. but is not so large. Epicauta sericaxs Lec. Adult. Of 29 adult specimens of Epicauta sericans (fig. 17) the variation in lengthwas from 9.5 to 13 mm., with an average of 10.8 mm.; color, light reddish brownthrough yellow and gray to almost silvery; antennae reaching to the elytra, thesegments except the second being nearly as broad as long. The second segmentis nearly twice as long as thick; sides of elytra nearly parallel. BLISTER BEETLES IN KANSAS. 15 Egg and Young Larva.The egg has not been secured or the growing stages of the larva recognized. COARCTATE LARVA. The average of 10 coarctate larvae was 6.875 mm. in length by 3.8 mm. inwidth. They are reddish brown, but not so dark as those of E. cinerea, andthe lateral ridges are present and distinctly angular. Third Larva.The third larvae are 7 to 8 nun. long by 2.5 to3.5 mm. wide
