| Föremålets historia |
Deutsch: Das am 31. Oktober 1969 vom Präsidenten des Niedersächsischen Verwaltungsbezirks Oldenburg genehmigte Wappen entstammt dem am 7. Dezember 1936 vom Oldenburger Ministerium verliehenen Wappensiegel. Das Gerichtsschwert erinnert an an das mittelalterliche Gogericht im Ort. Die frühere Landeshoheit Grafschaft Tecklenburg wird durch den rechten Schild mit den drei Seeblättern wiedergegeben. Der linke Schild erinnert an die einstigen Patronatsrechte der Oldenburger Grafen. |
