Sthenoteuthis pteropus[6][7][8][9][10] är en bläckfiskart som först beskrevs av Japetus Steenstrup 1855. Sthenoteuthis pteropus ingår i släktet Sthenoteuthis och familjen Ommastrephidae.[11][12] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[11]
