Spjuthoppspindel ingår i släktet Dendryphantes, och familjen hoppspindlar.[50][51][52] Enligt den svenska rödlistan[1] är arten nära hotad i Sverige. Arten förekommer på Gotland, Öland, Götaland och Svealand.[1] Artens livsmiljö är skogslandskap.[1] Inga underarter finns listade.[50]
