Chloranthus spicatus[1] är en tvåhjärtbladig växtart som först beskrevs av Carl Peter Thunberg, och fick sitt nu gällande namn av Tomitaro Makino. Chloranthus spicatus ingår i släktet Chloranthus och familjen Chloranthaceae.[2][3] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[2]
